Walk in the Light – Tyler Clutts

Last year I had the opportunity to be a guest co-host for a local Dallas Cowboys-centered television show called, “Inside the Huddle.” This show goes behind the scenes to highlight the real lives of Cowboys players and their families. I had a ton of fun on the show and was honored to be a part of it!

It came as a surprise to me that co-hosting this show came naturally to me, so they asked me to do a few more shows. After the season, they then approached me and asked if I would take over the show. I was honored but knew that this was a big decision. As Tiffany and I began to pray about it, they then asked if she would be willing to co-host and go inside the homes of the Cowboys to give perspective into the wives’ side of things. The more we prayed about it, the more we realized it would be a really great opportunity to share our faith with the community; it’s possible that this is the next platform that God is calling us to.

“For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light.” —Ephesians 5:8

Ever since we agreed to not only host, but help run this show, we have been inspired to do more than just create an entertaining series for Cowboy fans; we hope to give the show a facelift as well as shine light on stories and lives that are making an eternal difference.

This show has been on the air in Dallas for 25 years now with amazing previous hosts such as Emmitt Smith, Tony Romo, Jason Garrett, and more. For the show’s silver anniversary, Tiffany and I are excited to give it a fresh new look.

For the launch of the new season, we’re bringing the International Justice Mission on the air with us on August 29th. We’re expecting 400-700 people to join us at the House of Blues to see and hear about the amazing ministry that we, and many other professional athletes, have been able to partner with around the world. We couldn’t think of a better way to kick off the season than to give athletes and fans alike the opportunity to join us in supporting the missional work that IJM is doing to bring justice to the world.

Tiffany and I said yes to this new venture because we want to show that football players are meant for so much more than just playing the game on Sunday—and that both men and women play a role in that.

Any platform that God gives us is a chance to shine light on the Gospel and give glory to God. Whether we are shining that light through the way we interact with each other on the show, through the stories we tell, or who else we bring on the show, we want each episode to bring glory to God. We will not be silent about our faith; we will take every opportunity to be a light in a dark world. Now we can literally broadcast that message out!

“The people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned.” —Matthew 4:16
